Koda
Turning first-hand use of a reading and writing tool into specific product requirements.
The question
How can a reading and writing tool help people find and check material while keeping their own judgement and expression central? Koda is my ongoing exploration of that question.
Using the prototype
I used the prototype and wrote down problems with unclear controls, tutor navigation and export behaviour. These observations became concrete requests: open the tutor beside the writing, group related tools and reduce unnecessary explanation.
From feedback to changes
I set priorities and reviewed the experience while AI supported implementation. A local version introduced a side tutor, source-checking tools and export features. The useful work was turning a general feeling of friction into a specific change that could be tried.
Where it stands
Koda remains a personal prototype. The next step is to examine how well the reading-to-writing workflow works over repeated use and with other people. Learning outcomes and the proposed hardware extension are still questions to investigate.
